What a powerfully condensed narrative. It gets right to the heart of the modern dilemma we all sense…the duality created and reinforced by innate fear…. no matter the apparent circumstance. I can resonate from many years passionately involved in the “education of children“.

Wow, your vivid description captures the palpable tension and emotional rollercoaster experienced in your office! It’s almost cinematic the way you’ve outlined the scene of uncertainty morphing into reality with the organizational changes. It must be quite an atmosphere to navigate. I'm curious, how has the team adapted to these new challenges post-restructuring?

If I was one of the 'chosen' ones, I'd be looking for a new job. What an insensitive and unprofessional approach to staffing. Although, if fiction, fitting for the times we live in.

I’m really glad that I’m retired. I had to endure something like you describe, quite a few years ago, I think it contributed to my needing a triple bypass not long after. 🤙

This kind of story is perfect for waking sleepy heads into the awareness they need to surf through the baloney and malarky that many accept as reality! ... good job! alerting wage slaves to their truth!

I am unsure about this designation 'wage slaves' many of us have jobs to earn a living, it is just part of the human condition. 🍀

Hello Alina ... when I read your story it seemed that you saw how utterly wrong the system is and by shining a light on the inhumanity of it in the name of greed that you were encouraging people to SEE the truth and then when they do to stop accepting such an unfair system as being acceptable ... now your comment above seems to support acceptance of this Tyranny ... every single person that works for a wage that is less than they need to support themselves fully: food, housing, clothing (and other necessities) is a wage slave - truly even if one is paid enough to have those they are still WAGE SLAVES. They are not free - just because this abuse has been accepted does not make it part of the human condition ... it IS part of the system which allows people to be abused for the profit of someone who has more than them. Can you imagine a world where all these endless trillion$ that are currently spent on wars are shared equally (obviously the wealth and abundance of all resources not $) ... there would be no war, no poverty. The system in the world by whatever name we call it it is in the hands of the insane and must be changed ... accepting it as PART OF LIFE is why we are where we are. Stop accepting less than ... anyway - longer than intended but I have pointed in the general direction - yes, change will be painful for some time but now that they have changed our DNA and are about to FULLY ENSLAVE almost all of us - it is NOT time to acquiesce!
